{"id":372,"date":"2015-12-16T13:14:12","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T12:14:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ume.li\/blog\/?p=372"},"modified":"2015-12-16T13:14:12","modified_gmt":"2015-12-16T12:14:12","slug":"fun-with-connections-ifix-installer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ume.li\/blog\/2015\/12\/16\/fun-with-connections-ifix-installer\/","title":{"rendered":"Fun with Connections iFix installer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday I had some fun installing an iFix in IBM Connections 5 CR3.<br \/>\nAfter mastering the long parameters for the updateSilent.sh, there was an error reported.<\/p>\n<p>Going through the log I discovered the error<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Failed to perform extraction.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\">Exception: com.ibm.websphere.update.ptf.InstallerNLS:WUPD0235E<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If it can&#8217;t extract the files then something with the tmp folder must be wrong. I checked the \/tmp\/efixes directory, if the current user has enough rights to update the files there and I cleaned the folder from previous fixes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Starting the updateSilent.sh again, resulted in the same error message. Checking the file permissions again. Restarting the installer&#8230; still the same error.<\/p>\n<p>Finally I tried to install the iFix with the updateWizard.sh. This did the trick, because in one step it verifies the wasadmin account&#8230; Looking at my updateSilent commandline I finally discovered a typo in the password.
