{"id":586,"date":"2018-10-17T14:51:25","date_gmt":"2018-10-17T12:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ume.li\/blog\/?p=586"},"modified":"2018-10-17T14:57:49","modified_gmt":"2018-10-17T12:57:49","slug":"ibm-connections-component-pack-6-installation-customizer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ume.li\/blog\/2018\/10\/17\/ibm-connections-component-pack-6-installation-customizer\/","title":{"rendered":"IBM Connections Component Pack 6 Installation &#8211; Customizer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I tried to install a small POC environment for the Customizer only. 1 master node and 2 workers.<br \/>\nFollowing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/support\/knowledgecenter\/en\/SSYGQH_6.0.0\/admin\/install\/cp_install_config_intro.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IBM documentation<\/a> is straight forward. In my POC I relied on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/support\/knowledgecenter\/en\/SSYGQH_6.0.0\/admin\/install\/cp_prereq_kubernetes_nonha.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deploying a non-HA Kubernetes platform<\/a> path.<br \/>\nI went through the docs and copied all the pieces into a couple of shell scripts. So I&#8217;d be able to restart from scratch if something goes wrong.<\/p>\n<p>The only point I had issues was on how to setup the docker image registry. For my POC I did not want to fiddle around with certificates. So I decided to follow this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.docker.com\/registry\/insecure\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a>. If I had updated the daemon.json file on every worker node too, I would have been much more efficient. After this little change, my worker nodes were finally able to pull the images. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the documentaions first impression, the overall installation experience was interesting. <\/p>\n<p>At the moment I only run the customizer on my POC environment. After a clean reboot all 3 Nodes take less then 8GB ram.
